Sanctity of Life Month: January, 2026 | Sanctity of Human Life Sunday: January 18, 2026
Every January, churches across our nation gather to proclaim a truth the world too often forgets: every human life from the moment of conception is sacred, created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27).
Yet the sanctity of life is not a conviction to be affirmed once a year.
It is a foundation to be remembered,
a culture to be rebuilt,
a mission to be restored,
and a generation to be renewed,
for “children are a heritage from the Lord” (Psalm 127:3).
In a time when truth can feel negotiable and life increasingly disposable, God continues to call His people to choose life and to stand faithfully in what He has spoken, reflecting His heart with both truth and compassion.
Sanctity of Human Life Month is a time for the Church to reflect on God’s design for life and our responsibility to protect, honor, and care for it. Sanctity of Human Life Sunday provides a dedicated moment for congregations to affirm the dignity of every person and to respond with love to those facing difficult or unexpected circumstances.
For the Church, it is about faithful obedience.
It is about walking humbly with our God, acting justly, and loving mercy (Micah 6:8).
It is about remembering what has been spoken, restoring what has been broken, and standing as a light in a culture searching for truth.
The need for compassionate, life-affirming care is not theoretical. It is personal, local, and urgent.
93% of abortions occur during the first trimester (at or before 13 weeks), with an additional 6% occurring between 14–20 weeks.
– Guttmacher Institute, 2020
There are 14.4 legal abortions per 1,000 women ages 15–44 in the U.S.
– Guttmacher Institute, 2020
More than four in ten women who have had an abortion were attending church at the time of their decision.
– Care Net, 2021
These numbers remind us that this issue is not “out there.” It is in our pews. In our families. In our communities.
The Church has a vital role, not only to speak truth, but to offer guidance, support, and hope.
The beauty of the Body of Christ is that there are many parts, yet one body (1 Corinthians 12:12). Every church, every congregation, and every believer has a meaningful role to play.

A complete list of practical ways to partner with Amnion
At the beginning of each year, our Amnion board members commit first to prayer, believing that genuine service flows from time spent in God’s presence.
“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.” – Colossians 4:2
As we observe Sanctity of Human Life Month, we invite churches to pray intentionally:
For women and men facing unexpected pregnancies
For families seeking healing and restoration
For wisdom, courage, and compassion for our staff and care team
For light to shine in places of fear, silence, and uncertainty
Prayer is not a pause before action, it is the foundation that shapes the action itself.
Thank you for partnering with Amnion to reflect God’s heart for life and for honoring Sanctity of Human Life Month. Together, we bring Christ’s light into places of great darkness.
When the Church engages this issue with truth and compassion, we stand united as believers and are better equipped to make a lasting impact in our communities by bringing Hope to Life.
