Introducing our new Development Coordinator
May 29th 2018
Hello Everyone! My name is Shelby Paul and I'm the new Development Coordinator for Amnion Pregnancy Center. God has taken me on a wonderful journey to get to this point and I'd love to share some of that journey, and a little bit about myself with you.
I was born and raised just outside of Pittsburgh in a small town called Cheswick. Ever since I was little I've known that I wanted to help people. This led to a fervent participation in volunteering and service throughout my school career, but I wasn't sure what it would mean for my career after college.
After graduating from high school, I attended Penn State University where I majored in Public Relations and minored in both English and Human Development and Family Studies. I pursued these areas in the hopes of working for a nonprofit organization after graduation. I particularly had interest in human service nonprofits that focused on family and children. I believe so passionately in the importance of the strong, healthy family unit and wanted to dedicate myself to working for that cause.
During my college career I had two internships, the first of which was with the State College Pregnancy Resource Clinic as their summer development intern. While there, I absolutely fell in love with their mission and the work that the development team did. My heart for women and men facing unplanned pregnancy grew, and I became passionate about serving them and showing them the love of Christ. I knew that if the opportunity was presented, I would love to work for a similar ministry post-college.
To my delight, God opened the door to Amnion as the new Development Coordinator right after graduating from Penn State! To be able to use my time and talents to work for a cause that I care about so much is truly a gift.
I’m currently eagerly awaiting marriage to my wonderful fiancé Nathan and all that our new life will hold! We met early in our freshman year at Penn State through the Christian ministry Cru where we grew closer through serving on the same worship team together. Nathan is originally from Kennett Square, and I’m excited to now call Eastern Pennsylvania home as well. In my spare time I enjoy reading, singing, hiking, baking, coffee shop dates, and spending quality time with those that I love!
I am thrilled to be working with a ministry that passionately pursues helping others, protecting life, and sharing the love of Christ! I look forward with great excitement and expectation to my role as Development Coordinator with Amnion, and I am so blessed to be a part of such an amazing team that is furthering the work of this God-glorifying ministry.
