Making Life Disciples

Church families walk with us, pray for us, and sometimes cry alongside us.

Churches are often the first responders in a family crisis. Our church families walk with us, pray for us, and sometimes cry alongside us.  Women and men facing unplanned pregnancies are no different.  They need the church community to come alongside them, to provide compassion, resources, and hope.  Local pastors, partnering with Amnion, recognize this strong need and opportunity to love our brothers and sisters in Christ.

As a church, how do we do this?  How do we make sure that the church is the first resource families, men and women find support?

Amnion Pregnancy Center is offering a free training program called Making Life Disciples (MLD). The MLD program trains a local church volunteer to be a confidential resource in the church.  Life Disciples will learn to listen with compassion, encourage life, and share resources to prepare men and women for the journey.  Practical help such as “GLIDE” teaches Life Disciples how to give grace, listen, inquire, inform, digest, and empower, and many other tools will equip volunteers with confidence to make a lifesaving difference.

“When I learned there could be women in my church who feel alone and are afraid, facing an unplanned pregnancy, I wanted to do whatever I could to walk beside them. I never want women to go somewhere else because they are afraid that they will be judged or shamed in the church -- but I feel inadequate and not qualified.
